Babymoon in the Welsh Countryside

As I hit my third trimester of my pregnancy (and we came to the end of the mammoth and stressful task that had been applying for me to stay in the UK on a Family Visa) Dan and I decided we should have a little weekend away to relax, and enjoy some time ‘just us’ before baby joins us.

We booked a gorgeous little AirBnB nearby Raglan, in Wales, which for us was roughly an hour’s drive from our home in Bristol.

Surprising my family in Australia

I’ve been living in the UK for eight months now, and it’s safe to say that I’ve been missing my family, friends, and home quite a bit during that time.

So Dan and I decided to have a little bit of fun and arrive in Australia for my Gran’s 80th Birthday a week earlier than we’d told my family we’d be arriving – getting there just in time to celebrate my Mum’s birthday too!

Watch the video above to see how it all went down ❤︎

Welcomed to Iceland with a snowstorm

DSC_0097

Iceland has been one of those countries Dan and I have been wanting to travel to for a long time.

When we realised we both wanted to visit this Scandinavian bucket-list item, it quickly became our next adventure to plan.

We fell into a burrow of internet searches, guidebooks and travel blogs, finding out all the information we could to plan the trip of our dreams (Well, one of them, at least).

My First British Christmas

My family-in-laws beautiful Christmas tree

My first Christmas in the UK was exactly how I imagined it to be:

Filled with love, lots of smiles with my family in law, and, of course, more layers of clothing than needed in Australia.

I’ve been dreaming of a winter Christmas for a long time.

Even before I was in a long distance relationship with Dan, I’d always imagined spending at least one Christmas in the northern hemisphere, just to experience a cold (or, if I was lucky, a White) Christmas.

My first steam train experience at Lake Windermere, the Lake District, UK

DSC_0199

Sometimes the smallest of experiences can make a strong mark on your soul, create the greatest of memories, and give you such a sense of satisfaction – for lack of a better word.

On a day where we didn’t do much in terms of adventure – in fact, we took it quite easy and had a bit of a ‘lazy day’ – it was interesting to note that our day trip to Lake Windermere gave me so many “travel” feels.

I felt such a strong sense of Wanderlust, but also of completion in terms of travel and adventure.

I just can’t quite put my finger on why exactly, but it’s a nice feeling to have regardless.

Cleaning up after a natural disaster

IMG_9441

After the Northern Rivers was hit by the floods caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie (See my blog from last week if you need to catch up on this), my community has begun the long and tough process of putting the pieces back together.

Thousands of people have been affected – whether their home was flooded and belongings destroyed, or their business inundated with water and forced to close for the time being.

When a natural disaster hit our region

If you’ve seen the news over the last week, you may have heard something about “Lismore” and “flood”.

See, last Thursday (Only the day after I filmed that beautiful blue sky down in Ballina) constant rain hit the Northern Rivers, thanks to ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie, which had earlier hit northern Queensland.

In one day, we received so much rainfall that evacuation orders began being put into place. It was clear we were going to flood. Badly.

24 Things I’ve Learnt in 24 Years

So because today, the 7th January, is my birthday, I thought I would do something a little bit different on the blog.

I decided to put together a ’24 Things I’ve Learnt in 24 Years’ vlog – yes, that’s right, I’m a 1992 model 😉

Enjoy my wisdom (Or rather, lack thereof) xxx
