Vientiane is the capital, and biggest city, in Laos. There is much to see and do here – such as checking out all the French style architecture (Arc de Triomphe, anyone?) – but what I want to talk about here is one place we visited, the COPE Centre. A popular destination for tourists, some travellers may find Vang Vieng a bit too Westernised for their liking.
The abundance of young, party-loving travellers, lured to Vang Vieng by the popular (and dangerous) tubing activities that used to occur there (they still happen to some extent, but much of it has been closed down due to deaths), may turn some off visiting the town, but I would urge you to visit this place of paradise. Luang Prabang: A gorgeous town full of religious culture and fun activities.
