Exploring the sites of Cusco, Peru

IMG_7625

Cusco, at an altitude of 3,400m, is mainly known as the gateway to the Inca Trail and other Incan sites, but it’s not only that.

Cusco holds a whole lot history, Spanish colonial architecture (Take a walk to nowhere in particular around the town – seriously), and archaeological remains.

There are also a number of wonderful restaurants and bars around the main square that I would highly recommend – Cusco is a surprising party town if you want it to be.

I had many a wonderful night in Cusco with new friends, and so this place has a special place in my heart and memories.

If you’re headed to Peru, I would hope Cusco is on your list – if not as a stop on your way to the Inca Trail or somewhere else, then as a major destination in itself.

Trust me, it’s worth it.
