Vietnam is a country full of history – the good, and the not-so-good.
When in Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll find a lot of history surrounding the Vietnam War (Or the American War), a dark space in the country’s history.
The Vietnam War saw troops from both sides die (Up to 3.8million on the Vietnam/Cambodia/Laos side) between November 1, 1955 until the fall of Saigon April 30, 1975.
You can visit the Vietnam War Museum, the Independence Palace, and (on a day trip) the Cu Chi Tunnels to revisit these events of the past.
Coming from a country who fought on the opposing side of the War (Australia) it was a confronting experience, but one I was grateful for.
You can never have too many perspectives on something. It’s always good to learn new things or see things from a different point of view.
It was those thoughts that summed up my time in Ho Chi Minh City.
What did you see??????!!!!!!
