A different perspective on life from Siem Reap, Cambodia

Things you must do when visiting Siem Reap:

  • Explore the floating cities on Tonlé Sap Lake.
  • Check out the temples surrounding Siem Reap – don’t forget Ta Prohm, where Lara Croft Tomb Raider was filmed.
  • Watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat.

First, Tonlé Sap Lake will open your eyes to a different style of living – the nomadic lifestyle of those who live on the lake in floating cities, and move every couple of weeks according to tides.

Oh, to be able to move – house and all – whenever you get bored.

Then there’s the temples and ruins around Siem Reap, for example, Ta Prohm and the majestic Angkor Wat – both must sees.

Visiting these types of places give you a newfound respect for the spiritual side of Southeast Asia – not to mention the architectural prowess of those who built them.

What’s your must-do in Siem Reap, Cambodia?
