Jasper is such a spectacular looking place – all around you are beautiful trees, mountains, lakes and canyons.
However, even when you’re in paradise, hell can always be a millimetre away.
Unfortunately for my mum and I, that was about to become so true.

It’s referred to as “one of the most beautiful highways in the world” and it’s not hard to see why.
The journey along the Icefields Parkway from Banff to Jasper really brings a whole new meaning to the term “scenic route”.
Mum and I travelled up this beautiful stretch of road on a bus tour with SunDog Tours, booked through Viator – a brilliant decision.
Not only did we get from one destination to the other, but we got to stop off at so many magical sights on the way.
One of the best ways to see a new place in a short amount of time is to book a day tour.
You get the local knowledge, transport around to all the best sights, and – if you’re travelling alone – company for the day.
What more can I say?

Lush and green, buildings and business – Calgary is a city of contrasts.

Cloudy skies, rainy days, bright green trees, and “thank yous” and “eh’s” left, right and centre – we were definitely in Canada.
It was in Edmonton, our first destination, when I realised the “Canadians are so polite” belief is not a myth – seriously, this nation of people were so lovely.
Everyone would smile at you, say “hello there” when walking down the street, and help you out if you needed it – without even asking.

My most recent adventure – To Canada – was a very different experience for me.
Usually, I travel solo and meet up with group tours along the way, but this time I was organising everything from go to woah.
Oh, and my mother was coming along too.

Looking back on my two months in Latin America, there is just so much happiness that floods through me.
It was such an incredible time – a time of adventure, activity, friendship, and many. many smiles.
As well as my wrap up video above, I thought I’d share some of my favourite photos from my trip.

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was to visit Iguazu Falls, one of the New7 Wonders of Nature.
Lying on the border of Argentina and Brazil, the falls are made up of between 150-300 smaller waterfalls, depending on the water level.
It has a total length of 2.7km, the longest drop is about 82m, and the average flow rate is 1756 cubic metres per second.

With an extra day in Buenos Aires, it was suggested that we could maybe, you know, just pop over to Uruguay for the day.
It’s a popular, short, cheap trip – and you get to tick a new country off your list, explore a new atmosphere, and enjoy a day out while you’re at it.
