Cloudy skies, rainy days, bright green trees, and “thank yous” and “eh’s” left, right and centre – we were definitely in Canada.
It was in Edmonton, our first destination, when I realised the “Canadians are so polite” belief is not a myth – seriously, this nation of people were so lovely.
Everyone would smile at you, say “hello there” when walking down the street, and help you out if you needed it – without even asking.

Iguazu Falls: There are no words to describe it

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was to visit Iguazu Falls, one of the New7 Wonders of Nature.

Lying on the border of Argentina and Brazil, the falls are made up of between 150-300 smaller waterfalls, depending on the water level.

It has a total length of 2.7km, the longest drop is about 82m, and the average flow rate is 1756 cubic metres per second.

“Should we evacuate?” Town alarm wakes us up in Arequipa, Peru

As I was suffering from the flu mixed with altitude sickness, while my roommate was suffering from altitude sickness mixed with what would later be revealed as a lung infection, we both decided to spend our quiet afternoon in Arequipa, Peru, resting up.

We’d spent the morning with our tour group exploring some local sights of Arequipa after arriving on an early flight from Lima that morning, and decided it would be best for our bodies to lay down for a nap.

We’d barely been laid down for 15 minutes when all of a sudden:

“Wwweeeeerrrrrrrrooooooooo wwwwweeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooo!”

Things you must do in Acapulco, Mexico

If you’re headed to Mexico, you must visit Acapulco. If it’s not on your itinerary, it is now. Consider it done. Hands down, Acapulco was my favourite destination in Mexico. Our couple of nights there were amazing. Acapulco is kind of like the Gold Coast (Australia) of Mexico – Or the Miami (US), or Nha Trang (Vietnam) of Mexico.
