Wow, this pregnancy is really flying by!
I guess it really is true what they say about second and subsequent pregnancies seeming to go much faster than your first.
Overall, I’ve found my second trimester pretty wonderful – morning sickness and food aversions finally dissipated, my energy came back, and I was able to keep quite active, which I found an all around positive experience.
Second Trimester (Weeks 13-27)
Symptoms:
Mild dizziness/light headedness from low blood pressure (common among pregnant women)
Mild Round Ligament Pain (RLP)
Slight discomfort when sleeping
Pelvic Girdle Pain/Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (pain and pressure in groin, especially when walking)

Highlights
Having our 20 Week Anatomy Scan and finding out baby is growing perfectly and all looks healthy. We also found out at this scan that we are having a baby BOY!
Getting to tell our 3.5yo daughter, Ada, that she is going to have a little brother was really fun – we baked cupcakes with her and let her put “magic drops” into the icing which turned the icing blue to tell her that baby is a boy. She was very excited!

Lowlights
Having to take my first sick day from work this pregnancy due to some dizziness and light headedness – still nothing to complain too much about, but I just felt really bad for letting the families down (I’m a childminder).
