On the western coast of Ireland, there is a little touch of what I imagine to be heaven.
The Cliffs of Moher were undoubtedly my favourite sight that my eyes beheld on my journey through Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Seriously, I fell deeply in love with this place – I could have built a little shack into a rocky hovel of the cliff face and lived there happily ever after.
It felt like the place of fairytales.
The Cliffs of Moher are located in County Clare, off the R478, about an hour and a half’s drive south of Galway.
They’re Ireland’s most visited natural attraction, and it’s not hard to see why.
Standing 214m (702 feet) at their highest point they stretch for 8 kilometres (5 miles) along the Atlantic coast.
My sentiment is pretty much that if you visit Ireland and DON’T go to see the Cliffs of Moher, you’re an idiot.
Don’t miss the opportunity. Please.

Take a look at the stunning views:
I must mention that we had driven to the Cliffs from Galway that morning, which was also a beautiful scenic route in itself.
I definitely recommend travelling Ireland by car – there are so many random, beautiful sights you will get a better opportunity to see.
I must also mention our overnight stop in Galway before we hit the cliffs.
Galway is, for a city, a very picturesque place itself.
Take a walk over the the river and Galway Cathedral.
Even if you’re not a “church person”, the walk will help orientate yourself in the city, and show you some pretty little spots on the way, such as these:
I am going to be in Ireland for a few days in the coming weeks! Hopefully my stay is as beautiful and adventurous as yours!
Thank you! Oh how exciting!! I hope you have a wonderful time in Ireland!! x
