Two foggy days at Halong Bay, Vietnam

At first I was disappointed when I realised Halong Bay was going to be soaked in fog for my entire time there.

Then I realised just how spectacular the fog made the naturally beautiful sight look.

The emerald rock cliff faces steeping out of the water, covered with moss and backed by thick, white fog was actually an incredible sight, and one that I had embraced.

No matter how you see Halong Bay, I don’t think it’s possible for it not to look absolutely gorgeous.

If Halong Bay isn’t on your bucket list, it better jump on there quick-smart.

From boating around the bay itself, taking in the beauty you, to exploring the caves hidden in the nearby rock formations, to kayaking around searching for monkeys, and staring by night at the lights from all the other boats have a sleepover in one of the world’s most interesting locations, Halong Bay is somewhere you don’t want to miss out on.

It was the place I was looking most forward to on my trip, and while I was hoping for a fine few days, it didn’t turn out that way, but I didn’t let that stop me from enjoying my time there.

In fact, the weather might have actually made my experience there even more memorable.

Such is life.

Such is travel.
