Three weeks road tripping the UK & Ireland
Three weeks in the UK and Ireland.
Wow – what an experience.
I fell in love with a new part of the world, and I fell in love with a guy (Whoops, sorry Heart).

A startling revelation in my family history – Carbis Bay, Cornwall
As with when I visited Kesh, in Northern Ireland, earlier on my road trip, my trip south to Cornwall was a special one.
As I’d explored my paternal family history in Kesh, now I was to explore my maternal family history in Carbis Bay, a gorgeous – but gloomy on the days we were there – seaside town in England’s south.

Environmental wake up call: Eden Project, Cornwall
The environment is a topic of conversation very close to my heart.
I was always involved with the “green” groups at high school, and went on to continue those interest groups in the years after.
I’ve taken many steps myself to reduce my impact on the environment, and I care a lot about protecting our planet from destruction.
Therefore it was a no-brainer that I would visit the Eden Project while I was in Cornwall, England.

The gorgeous Roman Baths of Bath
Bath was a little place of heaven on earth for me.
There was nothing particularly outstanding about the day I had there, travel wise at least, but it meant a lot to me personally.
For a day I got to wander around this absolutely gorgeous town, soaking in the history of it before soaking myself into luxurious relaxation in the afternoon – all while hand-in-hand with my man, while we were still blissfully in that soppy “honeymoon” stage.
I’ll always remember my day trip to Bath as one of the happiest and loveliest days of my life, because it was simply blissful (and beautiful!). Continue reading “The gorgeous Roman Baths of Bath”
Dublin: Guinness and Viking History
Guinness and Viking History: Two essential parts of Dublin.
Two parts of which I focused myself on during my travel in the Irish capital.
Blarney Castle and my hometown’s twin?
Climbing up a castle to lean over a cavity backwards in order to kiss a dirty old stone, hoping for a gift of eloquence – sounds like a normal thing to do, doesn’t it?
At Blarney Castle, near Cork in Ireland, it is.
The breathtaking Cliffs of Moher
On the western coast of Ireland, there is a little touch of what I imagine to be heaven.
The Cliffs of Moher were undoubtedly my favourite sight that my eyes beheld on my journey through Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Seriously, I fell deeply in love with this place – I could have built a little shack into a rocky hovel of the cliff face and lived there happily ever after.
It felt like the place of fairytales.
Exploring my family heritage in Northern Ireland
We’ve all got a history. That’s fact.
However, we may not all know our own history.
Do you know where you came from, really?

Walking the Giants Causeway, Northern Ireland
We took the “ordinary” path for travellers doing a road trip across from Scotland to Ireland.
An early morning departure from Glasgow, driving down the highways to Cairnryan; ferry across from Cairnryan to Belfast; One night in Belfast then a trip to the Giants Causeway as we moved south.
An “ordinary” path filled with extraordinary sights, however.
Welcome to one of the most beautiful places on earth (in my official opinion): The Giants Causeway.
