It’s always so lovely to meet new friends who have similar interests, hobbies and goals.
So I was super pleased to catch up with Amanda Round The Globe while she was in Byron Bay recently, for a day of adventure.
Together we devoured some delicious vegan food, walked a popular beachside track, visited the famed Byron Lighthouse, and even spotted some whales!
The Beet Vegan Restaurant is a cute, hole-in-the-wall culinary treasure which you wouldn’t know was there if you weren’t looking for it.
Set in a centre of shops along Jonson Street (Just by Woolworths), The Beet is an absolute gem.
The Big Bowl, paired with a delicious Tumeric Latte (My first TL too, I can’t believe I hadn’t tried one before), left my tastebuds wanting more, but my stomach unable to fit any more in.
Safe to say, it was a great meal.
Wategoes Beach is another gem of Byron Bay – much more secluded than Main Beach, it’s the also much more beautiful, in my opinion.
Whilst you can begin the Lighthouse Beach walking track even further away, Amanda and I began our walk from Wategoes, a popular option for walkers.
From here you can take a (stair-heavy, but fairly easy) stroll up along the cliffs, overlooking the gorgeous beaches, to the Byron Lighthouse itself.
It’s a very scenic walk, and if you have the time to spare, I’d definitely suggest it.
Of course, at the end of the track you’ll end up at the Byron Lighthouse, and if you’re lucky (as we were) you may even spot some whales on your way there.
If not, don’t despair, as the lighthouse is a stunning sight in itself.
Plus, remember, it’s the marker for the most easterly point of Australia, so by visiting it, you can tick that off your bucket list!
After a wonderful day of exploration, Amanda and I grabbed some delicious vegan Knox and Aya ice cream and stuffed ourselves silly once again on that.
A great end to a perfect day, in my opinion.
It was so great to have Amanda in town – spending time with like-minded people always helps make your soul feel good and inspired.
I’m sure we’ll meet again, somewhere around the globe.
