It’s one of those bucket list items for travellers, the Taj Mahal.
So, of course, we were headed to Agra so we could stand in front of this wondrous thing.
I mean, I couldn’t come to India and not see it – right?
First off, it must be said that the Taj Mahal is not the only drawcard of Agra – there is also the impressive Agra Fort, which is one of India’s only forts to have never been conquered.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is a popular tourist attraction – and for good reason.
It’s a great example of amazing architecture, and a structure containing such history.
The present-day walled city was built by the Mughal Empire, although a structure has stood there since the 11th century.
How incredible is that?
Then the place we were most excited to visit – The Taj Mahal.
I can’t even put into words what it was like to see this Wonder of the World in person, how incredible this structure is – how intricately carved, how exquisitely designed.
It’s a Wonder for a reason – it is truly wondrous.
I honestly can’t do it justice in words, so I’ll just leave you to browse some of my photos from my Taj visit:

This was part of the Uncover India: Delhi to Goa tour with G Adventures. This was not a sponsored trip – this was my choice and paid for by myself.
I love the picture taken from the Taj Mahal looking back!
Thank you! It’s definitely one of my favourites as well 🙂 Capturing the craziness that goes on “behind the scenes” at the Taj.
