Lush and green, buildings and business – Calgary is a city of contrasts.
Set upon the Bow River, Calgary is great place for a weekend city holiday.
First, head to Canada Olympic Park on the city’s outskirts, where the 1988 Winter Olympics were held.
Not only is there a museum and Hall of Fame, but there are also physical activities you can do (depending on which time of year your visit).
The Park is definitley worth a visit – and it is so easy to get there via Calgary’s wonderful public transport systems.
Next up is a visit to Calgary Tower, where you’ll get epic views of the city and out as far as the snow-capped mountains.
For those who aren’t too scared of heights, there is a glass floor area to test your adrenaline.
Finish up your weekend with a walk by the Bow River and a visit to Prince’s Island Park.
It’s beautiful to be sitting in a picturesque park while staring across the river to the city’s high-rises.
It’s also a great spot for a romantic picnic or a chilled afternoon with friends.
