Rome. Roma.
Some people say Paris is the City of Love, but I reckon Rome could give it a run for its money.
Beautiful places, beautiful people, and beautiful food (well, they do say the way to someone’s heart is with food!) all makes for a wonderful city to be in.
My own heart fluttered as I got to stand before the Trevi Fountain, which I’d been wanting to see since – let’s be honest – the Lizzie McGuire Movie.
I threw in my coins and felt like I was hanging my soul to Italy. Actually, I am pretty sure I left a piece of me there – I may have to go back to retrieve it!
The Colosseum – a travellers must – was insightful and well worth battling the crowds for the good photo spots for.
To stand in such a place of history is an incredible feeling. I really felt that connection between the place and its past and present.
It was a weird (good weird) feeling.
My biggest tip for Rome is to eat pizza – as Italians intended!
Go for the basic cheese pizza – you won’t regret it – it’s like nothing you’ll have ever tried before. Trust me.
But be prepared, pizza back home won’t be as satisfying now.
