Cardiff Viva! Vegan Festival: A treat to my tastebuds!

IMG_3993

One of the things I most love about living in the UK is the amount of vegan options and food festivals that exist.

There seems to be a plethora of choice, so many celebrations available, and an abundance of accessibility for vegos here, compared to that of my previous home in regional Australia.

So, of course, I’m lapping it up and embracing all the veg-friendly events and food choices I can whilst I’m living here in England.

Back in February the Cardiff Viva! Vegan Festival was held, and since 1. Cardiff is just a short train journey away from Bristol, where I live, and 2. I’ve never actually been to a vegan festival before, OF COURSE I had to attend.

Winter Wonderland in Birmingham

Part of the group at the Birmingham Christmas Markets

Dan and I recently headed to Birmingham for the weekend for a friend’s birthday celebrations, including Christmas markets, seeing Kasabian live in concert, and a whole lot of snow!

It was a fabulous weekend filled good company, good drinks, good music and good food.

Eat the Street food festival, Lismore

DSC_0601

This is the first post in my series on the Northern Rivers, my home region.

One the best things about Lismore, the regional centre of the area I live in, is probably it’s wide range of food on offer.

From Japanese, to Mexican, Indian, Thai, Italian, Chinese, Mediterranean, fine dining, or a good old pub meal – you can find it all in Lismore

The small city is overflowing with restaurants, and has an epic cafe culture which leaves you with an overwhelming amount of choice for your Sunday morning brunch.

That’s why it’s only appropriate that one of the biggest events of the year in Lismore is the Eat the Street festival.

Exploring cemeteries and getting science lessons in Glasgow, Scotland

DSC_0567

I wasn’t sure what to expect out of Glasgow.

I knew it was a metropolitan city, that it was one of the largest cities in Scotland, and that it was a recommended place to visit.

That was about all I knew, and there were no attractions that I was absolutely dying to see (since I didn’t really know of any).

I simply wanted to come and see Glasgow, get acquainted with this Scottish town, and find out what it had to offer.

That I did, my friends, that I did.
