Delphi, Greece: The centre of the universe

Delphi – a place the ancient Greeks considered the centre of the universe.

You see, legend has it that when Zeus unleashed two eagles from opposite ends of the earth in order to locate its centre, the two eagles met over Delphi, on the side of Mt Parnassus.

Also famous for its oracle – a priestess who could communicate with the gods and predict one’s future in exchange for gifts – Both rulers, the rich and the poor would make their way to Delphi to gain advice from the oracle.

Like I said before, Greece is a country of ruins and great history, and Delphi is one of the hearts of those two aspects.

Head to the Archaeological site of Delphi (in your best walking shoes, because you’ll be doing a lot of feet-moving), and check out the ruins of the city that was and always will be, before taking in some more facts at the Archaeological museum at the site.
